THE 3 HACKS TO CREATING THE SUCCESS YOU WANT IN YOUR LIFE
The following is my personal plan for success, balance, and happiness in my life.
There are things I do every day, like meditating, exercise, and cold therapy, plus taking supplements. In addition, every day, I get outside in nature, find time to play, read, and be grateful for as many moments as possible.
Simply applying the three lifestyle hacks below will jumpstart you on your way to a happier, more fulfilling life. The life you want, the life you deserve...
#1 GET YOUR PHYSICAL HEALTH RIGHT
A) If you are not in good health, do everything you can to get and be healthy.
If you are in good health, do everything you can to stay that way.
As Robin Sharma says, start with your ecosystem. Your environment. Your network of friends. Your diet. Are you eating healthy, organic, sustainably sourced food, and avoiding sugar?
B) Ask yourself. Am I getting enough exercise every day? Even if it’s just 10-15 mins a day of intense hits, or sprints, or weight training to keep your muscles activated and strong.
C) Get into nature. The health benefits of getting outside every day for even 5-10 mins will make a big difference in your life. Also, coldwater therapy transforms your body and then every cell in your body wakes up. It’s all part of creating a disciplined routine.
D) Are you getting enough of the vitamins and nutrients you need? I get a blood test every 4 months to check all my levels and make adjustments as needed. (You can’t fix what you don't know, right?)
#2 GET YOUR MENTAL HEALTH RIGHT
I can’t say it any simpler than this.
Starting daily mindfulness and meditation practice will transform your life. This has been the foundation for my growth and success in all areas of my life for more than a decade.
“Taming your Monkey Mind” was developed and designed to produce the results you desire without taking up too much of your valuable time, by implementing simple daily techniques that reinforce your goals.
#3 TAKE ACTION
“Do what 95% of the population are unwilling to do. Victims spend time on entertainment. Winners spend time doing education.” Listen, I’m as guilty as the next person when it comes to binging a Netflix series, but I spend the majority of my free time reading and learning, or watching documentaries that enrich my mind with new points of view.
As Tony Robbins says: “Action defines the outcome.”
Start taking action by creating a “LIFE Priorities” List and sticking to it.
My priority list
#1 My health.
#2 My family.
#3 My spiritual growth.
#4 My work and career
Here is how priorities work in my life, especially as it relates to work. If I have a busy day, I make sure I get up early enough to get my morning work out and meditation in before I start my day. Why? Because my health, both mental and physical is my #1 priority.
If I am sitting at my desk working, and my son comes into my office and wants to show me something, before I just say, sorry I’m busy, I remember my priorities and I make a conscious decision to stop what I’m doing and go with him. There have been many times when I had to stay up late to finish work so I could spend time with my family. But this is how priorities work and how you create more balance.
Tony Robbins also has the RPM method of planning, which I find is very effective. Simply put, instead of using a to-do list to organize your days, months, years. You start with results or outcomes. Ask yourself what the result or outcome is I want from this call, meeting, day, week etc.
Then you plan and take massive action to achieve those outcomes. It is very useful in conjunction with your priorities list.
So if this all seems overwhelming, stop for a moment and, remember all you have to do is START and take the first step.
Just start. Stop asking where I should start, remember to just take action.
… And with each step, you create momentum and then keep it going with daily practice.
…And with practice, you will see progress, and progress will equal happiness.
…And then remember to give to yourself, and by being of service you are feeding your soul.
NOW GO KICK SOME BUTT!
With Gratitude always,
